Prayer - June 2004

Dear friend, thank you for your continued prayer support of Gospel Rocky. Everyone involved values your prayers very much. I want you to know that you play a vital role, and to encourage you to continue to pray. It is with this in mind that I bring the following areas to your attention:

Please pray for:

Rocky Kids

  • Pray for the continued commitment & enthusiasm.
  • Pray for each child to deepen their friendship with Jesus.
  • Pray for their continued enjoyment of sharing their faith through their involvement with Gospel Rocky.

Venues

  • Pray for us as we seek new contacts and theatres around the U.K.
  • Pray for our continued developement of contacts known to us.
  • Pray that our shows will be used in all sorts of ways to help local churches engage in evangelism.

Events

  • 10th July we are taking part in a churches together event in Leek, Staffordshire.
  • 17th July we are booked to do a child's birthday party.
  • 31st July we are taking part in Summer Fire at Southport - a family bible week.
  • Pray for our planning and rehearsals in the lead up to these events.

Schools

  • Pray for continued effectiveness in our 12 schools meeting 3000 children each term.
  • Pray for ideas to flow as we create assembly scripts so that what we do has impact and relevance.

Queen's Theatre

  • Pray for the growing friendship with the theatre staff
  • Pray for opportunities to share Jesus with people we meet here
  • Pray for completion of our move into the theatre, and organisation of office space which has been delayed due to refurbishment.

Media

In our last letter we asked that we could build good relationships with our local newspaper and radio stations.
Out of the blue I was asked for an article and we had a full story with a huge colour picture of Rocky's band in our main local newspaper last month!

  • Pray that we will continue to be ready when media opportunities arise.
  • Pray about the possibility of Rocky on TV and for this to come about at the right time.
  • Pray for wisdom as we generally develop the project.

New show

  • Pray for a creative time during the next few months as we write a follow up show.
  • Pray for the launch at the Queen's Theatre in July next year

Finances

  • Pray that we continue to stay in God's purpose, and see Him provide.
  • Pray that we discover trust funds and sponsorship, and more individuals will offer to support our work.

Re:act

This is the quarterly event for children at the Queen's Theatre headed by ourselves, Youth for Christ and other children's workers from local churhces around Stoke.

  • Pray for an exciting development of this project, which has the potential for many hundreds of children getting to know Jesus and growing in faith.
  • Pray for the next re:act event scheduled for October 10th
